Perfect Partners: 6 Tank Mates for Your Bronze Corydoras
If you've ever tried to create the perfect community tank, you know the struggle of finding the right fish buddies for your Bronze Corydoras. As peaceful bottom dwellers, they can be picky about their tankmates. I find that Bronze Corydoras love calm and friendly fish. So, who meets those criteria? Here is the list of Bronze Corydoras tank mates.
Tetras make the perfect pair for your Bronze Corydoras. These friendly, non-aggressive fish are easy to get along with and won't bother your Corydoras. Moreover, Tetras and Corydoras are both native to South America. Thus, they must like the same water conditions.

It should be noted that Bronze Corydoras require tank mates of similar size. So, adding Livebearers is a good option. Livebearers are peaceful and bottom-feeding fish. Therefore, they can coexist with Corydoras and other community fish. It's one of the best tank mates for Bronze Corydoras.
Can Danios and Bronze Corydoras be good friends? YES!!! I keep both fish in a tank, and all is well. They are very compatible with friendly temperaments. The Corydoras peacefully clear the debris at the bottom while the Danios agilely move around the middle level. Thus, there is no fighting over territory in your tank.
Next, I recommend you add Swordtail to your tank. Swordtails are known for their peaceful temperament. Hence, this fish goes well with your Corydoras. Similar to Danios, Swordtail is a mid-level inhabitant. Just make sure your tank is spacious enough and has plenty of hiding places.
Of course, the Bronze gets along well with other Corydoras species in the same tank. These peaceful and social fish enjoy each other's company but tend to stick to their species despite their similar appearance. To keep everyone happy, it's best to have groups of at least five individuals per species.
Bronze Corydoras and Otocinclus catfish make great aquarium pairings. Both species have similar characteristics: They are docile, bottom-dwelling fish. While the Otocinclus are the best at munching on algae, the Corydoras are the ultimate scavengers and keep your tank clean.
